When he turned 11, he received his letter to Hogwarts and was eager to begin life in a new school. But upon his arrival, he was always mocked by other students for his lanky appearance. After a day of constant teasing, Crane devised a way to keep his hecklers away from him. During a class break, when the bullies had come to him for yet another round of heckling, he quickly used a levitating spell and hovered them outside a window, threatening to drop them. A teacher arrived and stopped Crane before any fatalities could occur, but his plan had worked. No one bothered him since that day. Although he was punished, Crane did not mind. He used his now peaceful free time to study and quickly became top of his class. His best subject being Potions. Upon graduation, with numerous NEWTs under his belt, he entered training at St. Mungo's Hospital. His ward of choice was the Janus Thickey Ward, where he studied the psychology of the patients. One day, he arrived as a patient was experiencing a panic attack due to a hallucination. This is where his first interest of a patient's reaction to fear began. Soon after, he began to research phobias and would even conduct secret experiments on some of the patients, recording their reactions to his self created, self named "serum of pure fear". Many years passed since then, and Crane was moved to head of psychology and pharmaceuticals. |
